My weekly challenge!

When I had my baby shower at the church, our cousin Denise gave me a book called "100 Verses Every Mom Needs to Know." I started reading it before Brailyn was born.  However, I neevr finished it.  Last week I picked it up again.  It has 100 verses to memorize plus a little devotional to go with each verse.  I really want to memorize these verses and hide them in my heart! It talks about how crucial it is, for your faith and family, to know these verses and hide them in your heart.  I plan on doing 1 verse a week.

Verse 1 was: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16.

Verse 2: "This is the day which the Lord hath made; We will rejoice and be glad in it." Psalm 118:24

So feel free to ask me every week if I have learned my verses!

Good Times!

Each day with our sweet baby girl brings something new and exciting! She is so busy and we love it! This weekend we went to see Andy, Jennifer and Madi! We had so much fun! I can't wai till the girls get a little older so they can really start playing together! Brailyn has been blessed with 3 cousins that are her age! Madi is from her daddy's side. The other 2 are my brother's and sister's children! She is going to grow up having fun and getting into trouble with them! At Andy and Jennifer's, Brailyn started standing by herself! She would pull up on something then let go and just stand! She is growing so fast! She is such a fun and silly girl! We don't know what we would do without her!
Having fum playing with Madi's piano!

Now the real thing! Don't they look like they will be partners in crime!

Sitting in Madi's chair like a big girl!
Playing like the sweethearts they are!
All wrapped up in their matching towels!
She's so silly!
As soon as I get her diaper off to get in the bath, she flips over and takes off crawling! Every night I'll ask her "Where's Daddy?" SHe immediately takes off crawling to the door and looks out at him sitting in his rtecliner! She's so sweet!

First Nevada County Fair!

The Nevada County Fair started this Thursday with the parade so of course we had to go! Brailyn loved the parade! She started dancing when she heard the band even though she couldn't even see them yet!  She took it all in! The fire truck's siren made her jump but she did not cry. I was so happy! After the parade we headed to the fairgrounds for the livestock show! I always enjoy it, but it started later than usual so we didn't get to see everyone we wanted to see. I think Brailyn ahd fun though.  She got to see all the church family that she loves!  Tonight was the premium sale.  We always go because Jody is a buyer.  We go eat with the buyers, then the sale starts! Brailyn and I sat at a picnic table and visited with our friends Amanda Meador and her daughter Elise! ELise is 6 weeks younger than Brailyn! We had a great time at our first county fair!

Watching the horses at the parade!

Premium sale here I come!

Amanda, Elise, mommy, and me! Brailyn was looking at the other camera and wanting her keys back!

Walking past the band! I love music!

Checking out the chickens!

Since we now have internet, we decided to have a blog. This post will be a little catch-up on our lives till now.
Jody and I got married two years ago on June 21, 2008.  We had been together for 2 1/2 years at that time.  We moved into our house, I got a job at the preschool and we were just enjoying life.  We both wanted kids but not for at least two to three years.  Apparently God had other plans for us! Jody's brother Andy and our sister-in law Jennifer found out three weeks after we got married that they were having a baby! We were very excited! Madi was born in March and of course we were there, but I felt awful at the hospital.  I just thought I had some kind of bug.  Well...a week later Jody comes home from work and I had a little bag with one of my positive pregnancy tests in it (I had taken about three at that time and when he came home I took three more)! We couldn't wait to tell everyone so we told them that weekend!
I had a pretty calm pregnancy.  I fainted once and hit the floor which was a little scary.  My biggest complaints throughout were heartburn, itchy skin, and not being able to sleep on my stomach! I loved, loved, loved being pregnant! When we started our weekly visits to the doctor he told me he thought that I would probably have to have a c-section.  I opted to try without one first.  On Nov. 6, 2009 we went to the hospital to be induced. So long story short, after 26 hours of labor and nearly 2 hours of pushing I was wheeled to the OR for a c-section. At 5:41 P.M. on Nov. 7, 2009 our precious baby girl was born! Brailyn Amber Almand--6 lbs. 10oz. 20 1/4 in. long! This was the start of our new "nutty" life!
Athough it wasn't planned we wouldn't have it any other way! It seems like this should have just happened last week but Brailyn is now 9 1/2 months old and even more precious! Each day is something new! It's getting harder by each second to keep up with her! She got her first tooth at 4 months. She started sitting up at 6 mths, and crawled at 8 mths. Now she is very fast at crawling, pulling up, and cruising the furniture! She can now reach the table top and pull things off.  Last night at Neena and Papa Dale's, she took one step! They grow so fast!
I'll quit typing now and let you see how much we've grown from that wonderful day in Nov. til now!
Still in mommy's belly! Day before I was born!
Nov. 7, 2009: I'm already smiling!
